Following on from the introduction to posture, a simple exercise for the glutes is the first of the demos. We’re talking about the muscles in your bum!

The exercise is called a bridge. Done correctly it will really switch your glutes on and help you to engage them during everyday activities.

The bridge will help with

  • Developing and maintaining a correct gait
  • Stabilising the pelvis and the knee
  • Adopting good posture
  • Helping to prevent other muscles from inappropriately carrying the load on hip extension and other movements
  • Powerful movements in sports and other activities

That’s a decent list for such a simple exercise. Here’s the demo:
